Abstract:Background: Premature rupture of membranes (PROM) is one of the complications of pregnancy that poses serious maternal, fetal, and neonatal health risks. The prevalence varies in different populations and countries and the etiology is multifactorial. The aim and objective of the study was to find out the association between various presumed etiologies and to establish their significance as risk factors for premature rupture of membranes.
