This study aims to analyze how the influence of infrastructure consisting of sanitation, electricity and roads on poverty levels in Indonesia, either simultaneously or partially. This study uses a quantitative method in the form of multiple regression analysis with panel data. The type of data used is secondary data from 34 provinces in Indonesia during the 2015-2019 period obtained from the Central Statistics Agency which includes: data on the percentage of the number of poor people, data on the length of roads and the area of the province, data on the percentage of households that have access to PLN electricity, and data on the percentage of households that have access to proper sanitation services. The results of the analysis using a random effect model approach show that sanitation, electricity and road infrastructure have a significant negative effect on poverty levels. This means that an increase in each infrastructure has an effect on reducing the percentage of poor people in Indonesia. Thus, it is evident that the increase in each variable of sanitation, electricity and roads has a significant effect on reducing the percentage of the number of poor people in Indonesia.

Regional economic growth is one of the important socioeconomic indicators of social economy in three priority areas of East Java Province, namely: (a) Gerbangkertosusila, (b) Bromo Tengger Semeru, (c) Selingkar Wilis and Lintas Selatan. The main objectives are: first, to analyze the main determinants of regional economic growth in the three priority areas of East Java in Indonesia; second, to discuss how much its contribution to regional economic growth; third, to present the policy recommendations for supporting social and economic recovery during and after the Covid-19 outbreak in East Java. This study uses an econometric approach, namely: Panel VECM or Vector Error Correction Model with Impulse-Response Function (IRF) and Forecast Error Variance Decompositions (FEVD). The findings are that the main determinants of the regional economic growth model in the priority areas of East Java province are the poverty level, health, education, unemployment, and the regional economic growth in the previous period. The empirical results are expected to contribute to formulating policies for provincial and regional governments, especially policies that support social-economic recovery during and after the Covid-19 pandemic in three priority areas of East Java Province.

Inequality still becomes popular issue in the establishment of developing countries. Aside from the income inequality, the human development inequality is considered as an interesting topic for further study, in terms of resuming the solution. The purpose of this study is considered as specific in identifying the human development gap between origin and new regencies in Eastern Indonesia as well as the determinant. This study uses a positivist perspective with a deductive approach. Secondary data with cross-section types used in this study covers regencies and cities in Eastern Indonesia. This study uses the econometrics methodology using regression analysis with a dummy variable. The results showed there were differences in human development index between origin and new regencies in Eastern Indonesia. The human development index in the new regency is lower than in the origin regency. The results support the Myrdal’s Theory, which explains the gap in human development disparities among regions due to the significant backwash effects. Fiscal decentralization has a role in reducing the gap in human development in origin and new regencies, yet insignificant for the economic growth. Poverty lowers the impact on increasing human development in the origin regencies but does not occur in the new regencies.JEL Classification H30; I32; O15
