“…This description concurs with those of many authors on the effects and pathologies caused by fungal agents associated with the genus Fusarium present in tubers (Cook and Baker, 1989;Agrios, 1997). No bacteria were detected during the isolation process of the genus Erwinia, which commonly causes wet rot in tubers (Kunstmann, 2004). No evidence of other phytopathogenes was found during this procedure.…”

“…There is little information in general about the problems that cause the genus Fusarium Link in calla plants in Chile. According to Kunstmann (2004), there are not many phytosanitary problems in Chile that affect colored callas, or the problems are unknown. We note the complex of bacteria of the Erwinia group, with two sub-species carotovora and atroseptica (van Hall) Dye, as causal agents of serious problems to productive units in the country.…”

“…Of the species in the genus Zantedeschia, in Mexico Z. aethiopica (L) K. Spreng (white Arum) is grown mainly, and there is limited agricultural experience in the cultivation of other species (Cruz-Castillo et al, 2008). Among the factors limiting the production of Zantedeschia there are bacterial diseases (Kunstmann et al, 2006), among other factors associated with excessive fertilizer of N (Bloomz, 2004) and P (Gracía-Garza et al, 2006).In contrast, nutritional deficiency in this species causes metabolic disturbances in visual symptoms manifested as a reduction in growth and chlorosis (Fernándes et al, 2012). Almeida (2007) found that, the main nutrients are absorbed by the plant N and K, a deficiency of these that will drastically affect the development, production and quality of this species.…”
