Detergents and Other Contaminants in Water Supplies–1960

Abstract: This article discusses the danger of accidental discharge into water supplies of industrial wastes containing a large amount of the cationic detergents that are primarily used in industry. Topics covered include: foaming; effect on septic tank operation; groundwater problems; methods of removal; current action; stream monitoring; and, other contaminants.
