Additionally, significant numbers of 'constitutive' ASC were detected in the gills of dab (Limanda limanda), although the peak of specific anti-HGG ASC in intraperitoneally immunised or orally intubated dab accounted for less than 8% of the total ASC (Davidson et al, 1997). The present data and that of Lumsden et al (1993Lumsden et al ( , 1995 suggest the importance of the route of immunisation to locally stimulate the production of specific ASC in the gill.…”
