Detection of Prohibited Fish Drugs Using Silver Nanowires as Substrate for Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering

Abstract: Surface-enhanced Raman scattering or surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) is a promising detection technology, and has captured increasing attention. Silver nanowires were synthesized using a rapid polyol method and optimized through adjustment of the molar ratio of poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) and silver nitrate in a glycerol system. Ultraviolet-visible spectrometry, X-ray diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy were used to characterize the silver nanowires. The optimal silver nanowires were used … Show more

“…These characteristic peaks of malachite green are clearly observed from the spectra. According to the result, the SERS substrates were found to be able to detect a low concentration of 0.01 nM malachite green solution, which is very close to the finding in previous studies [23,24]. The enhancement factors for different concentrations of malachite green were also calculated.…”

“…Silver nanowires (AgNWs) have attracted much attention for use in devices like flexible touch screens, thin film solar cells, organic light emitting diodes and biomolecular sensors [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ]. For use as transparent conductive electrodes, in place of the indium tin oxide (ITO) films that are widely used in current technologies, the AgNW electrode must exhibit high transmittance in the visible spectrum (>90% at 550 nm) and low sheet resistance (<50 Ω/sq) [ 4 , 5 ].…”

“…The as-prepared Ag nanowires as SERS substrate could greatly enhance Raman scattering signals of tartrazine. Based on the method described by Ru et al [30], the enhancement factors for tartrazine were calculated as 3.9 × 10 6 (based upon the strongest peak at 1599 cm −1 ), the reproducibility of the as-prepared Ag nanowires was reported in our previous study [23].…”

“…Ag nanowires were synthesized using the polyol method referred to in our previously published article [23]. Ag nanowires were fabricated by reducing AgNO 3 in glycerol at a rising temperature.…”
