Abstract: The Bowman-Birk inhibitor (BBI) is a soybean-derived serine protease inhibitor with anticarcinogenic activities. BBI, in the form of BBI concentrate (BBIC), is currently being evaluated in clinical trials as a human cancer-preventive agent.
