Abstract: Introduction. Avian reovirus (ARV) is associated with arthritis/tenosynovitis and malabsorption syndrome in chickens. The σC and σB proteins, both exposed to the virus capsid, are highly immunogenic and could form the basis for diagnostic devices designed to assess the immunological status of the flock.
