Detailed Ge(Li)-Ge(Li) coincidence studies of levels in152Sm and152Gd

Abstract: The decay of 12.4 y 152Eu to 152Sm and 152Gd was studied in a high resolution singles measurement and two 4096 • 2048 Ge(Li)--Ge(Li) coincidence studies. Fortyfive gates were analyzed in order to confirm or establish the placement of the 7 rays as well as to accurately determine the intensities of the 12 doublets, which included several not previously reported. A new ~ --fl interband transition, 4 + --+ 2~-(561.4 keV), a possible 3 + --*2~" (423.7 keV) transition, and a new 330.9 keV transition between the 4 +… Show more

“…The solenoid current from a highly stabilized power supply (Oltronix) could be continuously varied by a motor-driven Helipot to follow a logarithmic function. The momentum resolution of the beta [4], in the case of 152Gd partly completed by measurements of Bowman et at. [28] (from the decay of an isomer in 152Tb); the dashed levels are results of (c(, 2n) reactions [29,30] spectrometer was determined for each individual source by the L conversion line of the 122 keV transition (122 L) in ~52Sm.…”

“…Fig. 1 represents the most recent data on the band and quasi-band structure of tSasm and tSZGd [4,[28][29][30]. The groundstate of 152Sm and the 0 + fl-vibrational state at 685 keV are assumed to have approximately the same deformation.…”

“…Therefore it has recently been extensively investigated through the /?+-decay of ~S2Eu [1][2][3][4][5][6], Coulomb excitation experiments [7][8][9][10] and the nuclear reactions [11][12][13][14][15][16] 152Sm(p,p'), 15~ 5~ 2 n) and 154Sm(p, t). Nevertheless because of the possible coexistence of states arising from both spherical and deformed shapes, more information of a detailed nature is required.…”

“…O esquema de decaimento foi pouco estudado por meio de medições de coincidência γ-γ, com apenas 5 trabalhos [10,16,20,23,24] nestesúltimos 30 anos. Na Tabela 2.1 são apresentadas, de forma resumida, as características dos experimentos efetuados.…”
