Detailed analysis of the factors affecting emitter recombination in solar cells through the small-signal voltage decay method

Abstract: A general solution to the coupled time dependent diffusion equations that describe minority carrier decay in an open-circuited solar cell is presented. A power law type emitter doping is assumed and emitter band gap narrowing is taken into account. Theoretical results are compared with computer simulations.
