“…The high prevalence of access to prescribed medications corroborates the findings in different studies in Brazil 3,4,6 . However, the verified prevalence was lower to that observed by other authors, who assessed specific groups (elderly and women) based on the data from the last health supplement in the National Household Sample Survey (PNAD), in 2008 (86%) 3 and the National Study of Women and Children Demography and Health, from 2006 (87.4%) 4 .
