Designing the half-masks of filter respirators for workers of mining enterprises

Abstract: The purpose of paper is to develop an algorithm for designing the half-masks of air-purifying respirators and assessment of their safety factor of insulation. To create a 3D model of a head, two-parameter NIOSH tables (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) were used. The model drawings were made with the use of Solid works software package. Differential geometrical method based on applying the moving Frénet trihedral was used to design half-masks. Two designs of the respirator half-mask were d… Show more

“…According to the variable yielding property value of the fastening system, the value of the load q 1 should be determined for each its value. In a two-parameter formulation of an optimization scheme, the load q 1 is represented as the sum of vertical stresses σ y , distributed along the mine working contour per unit length [39]- [43], [44]. The task of determining the curve σ y along the drift contour is easily performed after conducting a computational experiment with a hold fixed value of the yielding property of fastening system as shown in Figure 3.…”

“…In the described sequence, the deformation-strength characteristic q 1 (u) is determined under specific mininggeological and mining-engineering conditions for maintaining the extraction mine workings. Based on the works by [13], [43], it should be noted that the following geomechanical factors influence significantly: depth H of mine working location; the calculated resistance of roof rocks R r and bottom rocks R b of the coal seam. These can be used in the integral form to evaluate the strength properties of the coal-bearing stratum.…”

“…The main measures and means to minimize (eliminate) the negative impact of the HPF on the worker during operation of the "man -machine -environment" systems are the development and implementation of scientifically based work -rest schedules (WRS) for each workplace (taking into account the nomenclature of the HPF that have a negative impact on the worker at the relevant workplace), as well as the use (if possible) of personal (collective) protective equipment (PCPE) [2,3]. At the same time, depending on the nature of the HPF, either only such a measure as the WRS or the PCPE and the WRS together are used to protect the worker.…”
