Designing games in the classroom: Learning benefits

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine if the introduction of game design has an impact on the learning of information literacy concepts among undergraduate students. The study proposes a descriptive case study which draws upon the theories of social constructivism and motivation to explore the phenomenon learning by game design. The study was conducted in an online one credit information literacy class. Preliminary findings offer insight into the use of game design in learning scenarios.
