Our priinary responsihility is to supply new high Ciclrl cnpaciior drivcn coils wirh iiicr~xiscd capabilities for the NI-IMPI, Pulsed Field User Faciliiy at the Los Alninos National Laboratory (LANL). These standard user mils include o 5DT and 601' short pulsc magnet with 24 m m and 15 min bores respectively, cis well as a 40T long pulse magnet with U. 24 m m bore [l]. At this timc we are also collaborating with NIIMFL LANL on ihc dcsign niid constriiction of the insert ctd for the 1011T noli-destructive magnet Wig. I ) [2]- [3].la addiiion to building uscr coils, the NHMFI, piilsc lcain is CoIlstiintly in pursuit of ney pulsed tnagnet designs and cnnstruction methods that will allow us to reach ever-higher fields. 'This bas led to a ~icwly dcveloped scrics of high perforinance magnets wtiund with strong conductors suppoited by internal rcinforceinent [4]- [5]. As epoxy we use a newly dcvclopcd system (KWMPL 61) with cxtrnorditiary thermal shock resistance, luw viscosity, ant1 excellcnt rnechanicnl stteiigth. By aliplying this new cpoxy in conjunction with ttie internal reinforcement 01 MP3SNTM foil and ZylonTM fiber, rcsiilts from rcccrit high performancc magnet resting liavc been promising.
