“…In order to further verify the power spectrum method (Equations (49) and (51)), the simplified power spectrum method (Equations (62) and (63)) and the collective response spectrum method (Equations (48), (49), and (58)), the modified MSRS method (Equations (12) and (13)) is exampled to calculate the structural response. The calculated results are listed in Tables 5 and 6.…”

“…Meanwhile, the progress in engineering materials and structural designs has greatly improved the structural loading capacity, which has continuously provided higher performance products for structural engineering [10][11][12]. Hence, new structures could have a stronger capacity to work in the elastic state than the past structures under the same seismic magnitude [13,14]. This tendency is promoting the development of analytical techniques for the structural elastic working behavior in both calculating efficiency and simulating accuracy [15].…”

“…For the strength of a PSCWJ, Zhang et al (2017a) proposed a design theory, based on the following concept: under small earthquake or normal loading conditions, the PSCWJ should entirely remain elastic, whereas under strong earthquake, the primary column and beams are still elastic but the flange cover plates enter plastic range and slipping occurs in the bolt group, to utilize the plastic deformation of the flange cover plates, and the friction on the contact surfaces between the beam flanges and the cover plates for energy dissipation. Therefore, on one hand, the flange cover plates can be regarded as axial tension or compression members under overall bending moment; thus, the yield load P cy of PSCWJs can be determined according to the tension strength or buckling resistance of the flange cover plate.…”

“…The flange cover plates and L-shaped members use Q235B steel ( f y = 235 MPa), while the column and beams use Q345B steel ( f y = 345 MPa). The details of the above parameters can be selected according to the design theory (Zhang et al, 2017a).…”
