Design Techniques for Asymmetric Dual-Passband Filters

Abstract: This paper presents a novel synthesis method for asymmetric dual-passband microwave filters. The proposed method employs frequency transformation technique to determine the locations of poles and zeros of a desired filter. This method can be used to design dual-passband filters with prescribed passbands directly without any need of optimization process. Then an eight-pole asymmetric dualpassband filter is designed efficiently to validate the transformation technique. This universal method will be useful for th… Show more

“…The concept of dual-band filter was initially introduced by directly cascading two individual filters with two specified single bands [1]. Recently, a number of publications have provided a variety of solutions to the realization of dual-band bandpass filter [2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]. In [2], a dualband BPF is achieved by loading distributed capacitors in the inner area of conventional dual-mode loop resonator.…”

“…Munir A. Tarar, 2 Tauseef Tauqeer, 2 Faisal Amir, 1 Last decade has seen a significant increase in the research interests and the usage of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for both military and consumer applications [1,2]. The recent technological advancements and especially the emergence of consumer friendly quad-rotor copter (QRC) type UAVs [2] have allowed their use in many civilian applications like disaster monitoring, live-video broadcasting, mapping, search and rescue and remotesensing [1][2][3][4][5] and so forth.…”

“…Quite recently, a novel concept of flying ad-hoc networks (FANETs) [3,4] has been proposed for the efficient communication of UAVs in a multi-UAV environment. Instead of one large UAV, the use of multiple small UAVs is becoming popular, because it has many advantages like increased coverage range, survivability, speed and small radar cross-section (RCS) [3].…”
