Design Optimization of Slotted Liner Completions in Horizontal Wells of Mumbai High Field

Abstract: An efficient and cost-effective completion is very critical in the mature brownfield of Mumbai High. Horizontal and multilateral wells are strategic completions in this oil reservoir because of their high productivity and larger drainage area. This paper deals with design optimization of slotted liner for horizontal wells in Mumbai High field of India.A good horizontal completion must maintain the mechanical integrity of the wellbore without posing a significant flow restriction. In this respect, slotted and p… Show more

“…Total transmitted power levels are therefore in the region of 200 to 400W. In addition, directional antennas are used, which typically may have a gain of around 17 dB, so effectively, several kW of power may be transmitted in the main beam direction (Kumar 2010). The radiation pattern of directional antennas is something which is very critical in the whole transmission process (see figure 1).…”

“…(i) GSM base station antennas transmit in the frequency range of 935 − 960 MHz. This frequency band of 25 MHz is divided into twenty sub-bands of 1.2 MHz, which are allocated to various operators (Kumar 2010). There may be several carrier frequencies (1 to 5) allotted to one operator with an upper limit of 6.2 MHz bandwidth.…”

“…The amount of this heating depends on several factors, including radiation frequency, duration of contact, the direction of the object exposed to radiation, environmental conditions, and heat dissipation efficiency at relatively low levels of exposure to RF radiation, field intensities below those that will produce significant and measurable heating. Such effects are sometimes referred to as "non-thermal" effects [13].…”

“…Kumar et al [21] considered the design and optimization of slotted liners with respect to sand control, productivity, and economic performances. Slot specifications' effects such as size, and slot density on pressure loss due to flow convergence were considered in their work.…”
