Design on IoT Based Real Time Transformer Performance Monitoring System for Enhancing the Safety Measures

Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) is a continuing massive excitement for machine-to-machine communications to encourage individual devices to use the internet for data sharing. This work introduces the design and performance of continuous transformer monitoring and failure diagnostic and documents main distribution transformers indicators such as load current, transformer oil level, gas formation, and temperature. By using this project one must continuously take a look at it and it will reduce progress and maximize… Show more

“…Advanced transformer management systems use upgraded thermal models, which are inherently more accurate, in addition to real-time observations and calculations for dynamic rating. 137 An advanced TMS should incorporate smart cooling functionality that, upon detecting a rapid rise in load, predicts what the final winding temperature will be and promptly activates cooling fans and pumps to cool the transformer without waiting for the temperature to drop to the desired level. The transformer management system acts as a lone point of contact with the outside world, substantially streamlining communications and making it easier to access data about every aspect of the transformer's functioning and status.…”

“…Based on real‐time measured ambient and transformer temperatures, conditions, cooling state, and load, the dynamic rating of a transformer is the highest load that may be applied without exceeding predefined thermal and current rating limits. “…It provides useful information about the health of the distribution transformer and will facilitate the services of the transformer and increase the lifetime of a transformer [10]. The output data is stored in a database after processing so that the report can be viewed using mobile applications [11]. As a result, an online measurement device is used to collect and analyze various types of data from sensors over time [12].…”
