Hybrid fractal multiband antenna is designed usingKoch and meander geometry and its characteristics are investigated. The proposed antenna helps to achieve multiband behavior due to its multiple resonance characteristics. It has planar structure, compact size and suitable for wireless applications. IFS approach has been used to obtain the hybrid structure using MATLAB and scripting method of HFSS. Perturbation of basic structure is done to achieve quad-band behavior. Proposed antenna resonates at four different frequencies including Bluetooth (2.12-2.95 GHz) , WLAN (4.82-5.95 GHz), 4.07 GHz and 7.3 GHz. It is a low cost antenna designed on easily available FR4 substrate. It exhibits nearly omnidirectional radiation pattern and VSWR ≤ 2 for all resonating frequencies.

In this paper, a compact Giuseppe Peano, Cantor Set, and Sierpinski Carpet fractals based hybrid fractal antenna (GCSA) is designed and developed for Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) band applications. The proposed GCSA is a hybrid fractal design which is created by fusing Giuseppe Peano, Cantor set, and Sierpinski carpet fractals together. The optimization of the microstrip line feed position is performed by using a Firefly Algorithm (FA). The substrate material employed for proposed GCSA is a low-priced, easily available FR4 epoxy of thickness 1.6 mm. By varying the geometrical dimensions of the radiating patch, a data set of 58 GCSAs is randomly generated for the realization of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and FA approaches. The designed structure is fabricated, and then measured results are evaluated. The proposed GCSA is capable of resonating at 2.4450 GHz with S(1, 1) < −10 dB. The measured bandwidth of the operating ISM band is 101 MHz. The quantitative performance of three different ANN types reveals that Feed Forward Back Propagation ANN (FFBPN) shows minimum error in comparison to other two ANN types. The simulated, experimental, and optimized results show a good match that specifies the preciseness of the measurement.

Antennas play a vital role in wireless communication; a thirst of excellence in this area is unending. Proposed work describes a concept of fractal multiband antenna designed in the hexagon shape. Basically fractal is the concept used in Microstrip antenna for giving better results than conventional Microstrip antenna. By using hexagonal fractal antenna we can possibly achieve the radiation pattern with high gain. The coaxial feeding is used and multiple hexagons are interconnected in array for maintaining conductivity and to preserve electrical self similarity. Hexagonal antenna is used for different wireless applications. The proposed antenna frequency band covers a large number of wireless communication applications including GPS (1.6GHz), Bluetooth (2.4 GHz) & WLAN (3.6GHz). Antenna design has been designed and simulated by using the software Ansoft’s HFSS and parameters like bandwidth return loss, directivity, VSWR are analyzed. Fabrication of the antenna is done by using wet-etching method, on FR-4 dielectric substrate material. Experimental results are taken on Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) and those obtained results were compared with simulated results. The hexagonal fractal antenna array is found to possess predictable multiband characteristics.
