Design of Scalable IoT Architecture Based on AWS for Smart Livestock

Abstract: In the ecological future of the planet, intelligent agriculture relies on CPS and IoT to free up human resources and increase production efficiency. Due to the growing number of connected IoT devices, the maximum scalability capacity, and available computing power of the existing architectural frameworks will be reached. This necessitates finding a solution that meets the continuously growing demands in smart farming. Cloud-based IoT solutions are achieving increasingly high popularity. The aim of this study w… Show more

“…This rapid growth of population has sustained to in uence the upward call for animal food and also increased in uences of livestock farming systems on the biosphere during the last few decades. Moreover, the proper management of limited resources such as curtail manpower, required to reduce livestock involvement in greenhouse gases, water management, and minimize repetitive day-to-day livestock management activities are key challenges to overcome in livestock production [35]. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a most promising technique that provides various innovative solutions to modernize livestock farming.…”

“…A wireless sensor network (WSN) is a broadly used research area for different applications, namely, health monitoring, military relevance, environmental observation, industry applications (Dineva and Atanasova, 2021) and so on. Generally, WSN comprises of various Elephant herd optimization 451 sensors (Kaushik and Gaundalkar, 2021), which are placed evenly and randomly to gather a data from an environment and broadcast data to the sink node.…”

“…In the IoT framework, all nodes can communicate with each other or with a gateway through communication protocols. HTTP, CoAP, MQTT, AMQP, and DDS are the most common IoT data protocols designed for different scenarios and usages in livestock farming. The IoT networks support machine-to-machine communication, machine–human communication, and human-to-machine communication .…”
