Design of Novel Dual-Band Bandpass Filter With Microstrip Meander-Loop Resonator and CSRR DGS

Abstract: Abstract-A novel dual-band bandpass filter with meander-loop resonator and complement split-ring resonator (CSRR) defected ground structure (DGS) is proposed in this letter. Microstrip meanderloop resonator and CSRR DGS are operated for respective passbands. Several finite attenuation poles in stopbands are realized to improve the selectivity of the proposed bandpass filter and isolation between the two passbands. Compact size, dual band and high selectivity characteristics are realized by this type of filter … Show more

“…There are many methods to design multi-band filters, such as combining two single-band filters at different passband frequencies [1][2][3][4][5], adding defected stepped impedance resonator (DSIR) and microstrip stepped impedance resonator (MSIR) [6][7][8][9] or adding a couple of resonators [10][11][12][13]. The method of adding shunt open stub to the center of the resonator is used to design dual-band filter and there are three transmission zeros for the two passbands [14,15].…”

“…On the other hand, in many cases of practical interest (cellular/PCS, WLAN, GSM/DCS and other dual-band applications [6][7][8][9]) impedance matching over two separate bands can be required. So, in the last years various design methods for dual-band impedance transformers have been proposed [10][11][12][13][14].…”
