Abstract: A multi‐phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with fractional‐slot windings is proposed to reduce electromagnetic vibration and improve torque performance. Firstly, the analytical expression of electromagnetic force is derived, and the stator teeth modulation effect of electromagnetic force is introduced.
