Design of Multi-Functional Access Control System

Abstract: Facial recognition is a biometric recognition technology that verifies identity using information about human facial features so it is used for access control systems. Current access control systems are implemented using traditional RFID technology or keys. Users must carry an access card or key and the access card or a key can be forgotten, lost or copied by others to use an access control system. This study proposes a multi-function facial recognition access control system that uses Python and RFID.The syste… Show more

“…Stateful authentication is particularly beneficial for ensuring secure access to servers through firewalls, enhancing efficiency by using tokens or similar methods for continuous authentication. It finds its application in various advanced fields, such as Ad hoc networks, Blockchain technology, and 5G networks [12], [28], [29], [30], [31]. Beyond its conventional use in logical security, No efforts were taken to extend stateful authentication to physical security measures, such as smart gates, aiming to boost efficiency without compromising safety.…”

“…In addition, radio frequency identification (RFID) tags are widely used due to their low cost, simple structure, and convenient data reading. Nowadays, the use of RFID in various applications such as supply chain management [10], public transportation [11]- [13], and access control [14] has become an unstoppable trend [15]. Recently, the combination of RFID and sensing systems have expanded the application of RFID to environmental monitoring [16]- [23] and healthcare [24]- [25].…”
