Design of Hybrid Dynamic Balancer and Vibration Absorber

Abstract: This study proposed a novel hybrid dynamic balancer and vibration absorber that is cheaper than active dampers and more effective than passive dampers. The proposed damping system does not need to be altered structurally to deal with different damping targets. Rather, the proposed vibration absorber is capable of self-adjustment to the optimal damping location in order to achieve balance and, thereby, optimize damping effects. The proposed device includes a groove under the damping target with inertial mass hu… Show more

“…But more researches on shock absorber is aimed at improving the shock absorber's module optimization and damping effects from the direction of technological system in the foreign country or applying more advanced damper such as particle damper, damper for turning the volume and new shock absorber combining dynamically mixed balance and shock absorber. Some of them are for mathematical models, adding automobile shock absorber to the bracket of vehicle's structure for prolonging the lifespan of shock absorber [6,7,8,9,10]. As a result, it is a major task to conduct the needed studies about automobile shock absorber in the vehicle industry and other related industries.…”

“…The passive adjustment capabilities of these properties is far less developed and understood. So far, self-adaptation has mainly been reported for either a string [4], a beam [3,14,10,9] or a rigid plate [17] with an attached, self-arranging mass. In these systems, the attached mass can assume an equilibrium location along the base system's axis at steady state.…”

“…Thus, the system can passively (de)tune with respect to the excitation. The theoretical explanation of the self-adaptive behavior is based on similar models in the aforementioned references [4,3,14,10,9,17]. The wave equation was used to describe the lateral vibrations of the string in [4], while the Euler-Bernoulli theory was applied to describe the bending vibrations of the beam in [3,14,10,9].…”

“…Zhou et al [2,3] analyzed the inhibiting effect of adopting a dynamic vibration absorber (DVA) on the car body elastic oscillation by elaborating a vertical rigid-flexible dynamical model of railway vehicles containing UCE. At present, DVAs are widely used as passive damping systems [4][5][6].…”
