Abstract:In this paper, a methodology is suggested to evaluate the goodness-of-fit between observed and numerically predicted variables in curved open channel flows. The mathematical model uses the continuity and the Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations with the RNG κ-ε turbulence model, numerically solved with the commercial software Ansys Inc. The concept of design of experiments (DOE) together with some criteria of goodness-of-fit was used in a new coherent suggested methodology for the calibration and v… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
