Design of discrete phase-only dual-beam array antennas with minimum dynamic range ratio

In this paper, transmit beamformer design for single group multicast scenario is considered. The problem is solved in discrete form where the beamformer phase and amplitude values are selected from finite discrete sets. Original optimization problem is converted to a linear form by introducing new variables. The solution of the equivalent optimization problem is always feasible as long as the total power is above a certain value. The problem in its linear form is guaranteed to return optimum solution. Proposed approach is very effective and the number of bits can be increased to obtain close to optimum continuous phase and amplitude beamformers.Index Terms-Transmit beamformer, discrete beamformer, mixed integer linear programming

Özetçe -Bu bildiride, tek grup çoga gönderim (tüme gönderim) sadece-faz sınırlamalı verici hüzme tasarımı, anten altkümesi seçimi ile birlikte ele alınmıştır. Several experiments are done and it is shown that the proposed approach is effective and efficient.

Özetçe -Bu bildiride, tek grup çoga gönderim (tüme gönderim) senaryosu için max-min tarzı verici hüzme tasarımı dikkate alınmıştır. Hüzme vektörünün katsayılarının faz ve büyüklük degerleri sınırlı ayrık kümelerden seçilmektedir. Tamsayı degişkenlerin yardımıyla, orijinal optimizasyon problemi, karma tamsayılı dogrusal programlama için uygun olan dogrusal bir forma dönüştürülmektedir. Toplam güç belli bir degerin üstünde oldugu sürece, çözüm her zaman bulunabilir. Dal kesme yöntemi optimum çözümü garanti etmektedir. The phase and amplitude values of beamformer vector coefficients are selected from finite discrete sets. With the help of integer variables, original optimization problem is converted to a linear form appropriate for mixed integer linear programming. The solution is always feasible as long as the total power is above a certain value. Branch and cut strategy guarantees the optimum solution. Proposed approach is very effective and with moderate number of bits, a performance closed to optimum continuous beamformer can be obtained.Keywords-transmit beamformer, max-min style beamformer, discrete beamformer, mixed integer linear programming
