Design of Compact mm-wave Tunable Filtenna Using Capacitor Loaded Trapezoid Slots in Ground Plane for 5G Router Applications

Abstract: This paper introduces a compact millimeter-wave tunable filtenna with defected ground-plane structure (DGS) resonators for future fifth generation (5G) applications. An approach of adding the lumped and tunable elements within the DGS resonating structure is introduced. The designed filtenna has achieved a good reflection coefficient |S 11 | lower than −25 dB with a realized gain higher than 9 dB at any of the tuned frequency bands.
