Design of balanced to balanced filtering power divider based on right triangle substrate integrated waveguide cavity

Abstract: A new balanced to balanced (BTB) filtering power divider (FPD) based on right triangle substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity is proposed in this article. TE 120 -mode is used in four SIW right triangle cavities to realize required differential-mode (DM) transmission and common-mode (CM) suppression.Grounded resistors are loaded between DM output ports to obtain port-to-port isolation. The transmission zero out of the passband is generated by suppressing the TE 210 mode. A prototype BTB FPD operating at 1… Show more

“…Table 3 shows the performance of the proposed BTB FPD and other reported BTB FPDs. The proposed BTB FPD based on the HMSIW-SSPP transmission line has a broader operating bandwidth than the BTB FPDs in [ 2 , 3 , 4 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 ], and it also possesses independent control of the passband’s lower and upper cut-off frequencies, making obtaining the desired frequency response easier. Although the SSPP BTB FPD in [ 5 ] achieves a 152% FBW and compactness, this proposed design has better IL, RL, and isolation than that of [ 5 ].…”

“…In recent years, some balanced components and antennas were presented. [1][2][3][4][5][6] What's more, antennas and filters are the core components for realizing wireless communication in the RF front-end. Integrating antenna and filter into one single module which is called filtering antenna can greatly decrease the volume and the insertion loss.…”
