Design of Air Pulsers for Pulse Column Application

Abstract: Pulse columns, commonly used as liquid-liquid contactors in irradiated fuels reprocessing plants, require mechanisms for generating the pulse within the column. Pulse generation using timed pulses of compressed air have been used in at least two reprocessing plants. Design of these air pulsers requires the solution of three coupled nonlinear differential equations.
