Design of Air Pollution Monitoring System Using ZigBee Networks for Ubiquitous-City

Abstract: The innovative Ubiquitous-City was born through convergence of construction, home applications and culture, with development of up to date information technologies and ubiquitous IT. The U-City can be applied to a variety of special situations for managing functions of each city efficiently. This paper focuses on implementation of air pollution monitoring system. First, each sensor was tested after survey about market trends of a variety of sensors for detecting air pollution. Second, wireless communication mo… Show more

“…Authors matched the two models concerning implementation time and recommended the second flow-based design. Kwon et al (2007) developed an air pollution monitoring system coupled with dust, temperature-relative humidity and CO 2 sensors based on ZigBee platform for the ubiquitous city. In the proposed method, TOSSIM simulator was used for analyzing three kinds of routing protocols based on ARM7 architecture.…”

“…Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) provide many advantages in terms of different properties such as data range, transmission speed, reliability, cost, and expansion compared to wired networks. In recent years, WSN, which have been used in many fields such as health, 19 remote monitoring and control, 20,21 and security, 22 have also been intensely preferred in home automation systems. In the literature, the use of thermal comfort in home automation systems, in which space heating is controlled via WSN, includes differences.…”
