<p>In this modern century where fine comfort is a necessity especially in buildings and occupied space, the study to satisfy one aspect of human comfort is a must. This study encompasses of exploring the physiological and environmental factors in achieving thermal comfort which specifically considering the clothing insulation and metabolic rate of students as well as the deployment of dry-bulb temperature, mean radiant temperature, humidity, and air movement in order to obtain the level of comfort students are experiencing in class. The level of comfort are detected by using ASHRAE 55 to determine the average thermal sensation response through the Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) value. An android application were developed to read input of recognizing clothing level (thickness of clothing) and capturing metabolic rate to cater the inputs for physiological factors, while radiant temperature, humidity and air movement are captured through static sensors set up in the classroom space. This paper analyses both the physiological and environmental factors in affecting students in class and further determine their comfort levels that is a major influencing factor of focus in learning. Through cross referencing collected data from IoT enabled nodes, it is found that both physiological and environmental factors, and the combination of them greatly influence in getting the most comfortable state with PMV value of 0.</p>

Steadily raising standards for indoor environmental quality in living and office spaces lead to an extensive utilization of high performance and power-demanding climate control systems. An increasing utility and energy cost for buildings operation, in turn, pushes researchers and manufactures to explore new strategies to reduce energy waste and minimize ecological impact.The key enabler for an efficient energy management is accurate measurement and assessment of buildings operation that contribute to the total load. In this paper we present an ad-hoc Wireless Sensor Network deployment that performs monitoring of electricity load and occupants comfort level in a university building where more than a hundred students and employees are present every day. The system consists of 27 sensor devices continuously measuring vibration, temperature, humidity, light and the air conditioning system electrical load. An accurate analysis of indoor conditions, recognition of inhabitant comfort level, automatic forecasting and recommendations on optimal balance between environmental quality and power demands is the main objective of the presented system. Preliminary laboratory experiments and following 15 months of continuous real-world operation demonstrate that the presented system provides accurate monitoring delivering a valuable insight into the building operation.978-1-4799-8215-8/15/$31.00 ©2015 IEEE

A medical monitoring system based on wireless sensor network (WSN) is proposed in this paper. It designs cluster-tree wireless sensor network nodes, which consist of an acquisition module, a microprocessor unit and wireless communication module. The design makes it possible that the data is transmitted accurately from acquisition nodes to sink nodes through the router nodes, and the collection and transmission of wireless sensor network nodes are accurate and stable. It can greatly expand the capacity of monitor, improve the monitoring management, and increase monitoring efficiency.
