Incessantly a self configuring network for mobile devices known as Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) are associated wirelessly .In significant networks, this design might perhaps enforce increased computational costs owing to the costly credentials chaining overheads that would not adapt for ad-hoc applications with increased nodes. Here a survey is carried out to express a view on the secure and authentic MANET systems. The literature reviewed is on different and diverse techniques of related to MANET systems. Reviews of 65 papers is presented and stated the significant analysis. At first the analysis depicts various attacks that are contributed in different papers. Subsequently ,various measures like security, cost, simulation time etc are also analyzed. It analyses the encryption method also that is exploited in each paper. This paper further gives an insight regarding the tools adapted ,chronological review and performance achievements in each case. At the end the review extended for the different research issues to investigate further research on secure and authentic MANET system

Mobile ad hoc network is a self-organizing wireless network, which is formed by the wireless mobile devices without any centralized infrastructure. The mobile nodes in the network are mainly affected by the inherent characteristics such as unpredictable network topology and open wireless medium. Especially, the presence of selfish nodes in the network creates the packet loss and affects an entire communication system. In this paper, the hash function with position updating algorithm is proposed in the Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol for improving the security against the selfish nodes. The AODV routing protocol is used to transmit the data packets from the source to the destination. Therefore, the Prevention of Selfish Node using Hash Function (PSNHF) with position update algorithm is proposed for minimizing the packet loss through the network. The performances of proposed AODV-PSNHF method are analysed in terms of energy consumption, throughput, Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), packet loss and normalized routing load. In addition, the AODV-PSNHF method is compared with the existing trust-aware ad-hoc routing protocol (T2AR). The selfish node identification using hash function and positioning update using AODV-PSNHF method provides reliable and secure data transmission under selfish nodes and shows better performance in terms of throughput, packet delivery ratio and packet loss. For 2% of malicious nodes the PDR of the AODV-PSNHF method is 89%, it is 9% higher when compared to the T2AR protocol whose PDR% is only 80% for the same.

Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile hosts that create a temporary network without the help of centralized administration or particular support services. Energy consumption is the most critical issue in the MANETs, since the superior part of the mobile hosts work on inhibited battery resources. Reduction in the energy consumption results in the increase in the lifetime and throughput of the network. The performance of existing strategies is less in terms of energy conservation issues. To overcome these limitations, this paper uses an energy consumption method incorporate with a proactive MANET routing protocol. The routing protocol depends on the energy level and the movement of the nodes. Estimation of energy cost is performed based on the calculation of the energy consumption level of the node, using K-Means clustering along with AODV (Adhoc On Demand Distance Vector) optimized with Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). The performance of the proposed "K-Means-AODV-ACO" model is compared with the existing Energy Efficient Hybrid Routing Protocol (EE-HRP) and Mobile Agents based Reliable and energy efficient routing protocol (MAREERP) MANETs. From the comparison result, it is clearly seen that the proposed model accomplished better execution in terms of number of Packet delivery ratio (PDR), end-to-end delay, delay, drop and energy consumption.
