Research background: Globalization has had an impact not only on the Internet society, but also on the way in which digital solutions lead to the improvement of the business activity and optimal policies in simple decision-making. Big data, cloud computing and artificial intelligence may essentially improve the company management and the work of the accountants. The increase of sharing information by digital technologies and big data management are opening huge big opportunities and driving investors towards peak globalization. Purpose of the article: Our aim is to clarify and present the issues in question in terms of financial implications due to the influence of big data management and cloud computing in the digital world. Methods: Our method to conduct the research is a mix of combining quantitative and qualitative analysis in order to identify the benefits of implementing big data management with positively influences over firms’ performance directly. Findings & Value added: Our research presents the financial implications of using cloud computing and digital solution for businesses in the digital world, and also the impact study of adopting cloud technology in business development. There are many implications for implementing big data and cloud computing, but the most important one is increasing the productivity of the companies and improving the international economy.

Understanding interactive user behavior in smart media content service: An integration of TAM and smart service belief factors

Smart media combines media and artificial intelligence (AI) and can also be a user-centered content service market. However, existing research lacks an understanding of user's perceptions concerning smart services generated by different user experience types across different payment groups. Taking AI-powered Smart TV (AI TV) as a typical research object, this study (1) develops a theoretical model by integrating the technology acceptance model with users' smart service belief factors and (2) employs the user experience type as an original moderator. Using data from 585 AI TV users, the structural equation modeling analysis suggests that perceived two-way communication, perceived personalization, and perceived co-creation as three belief factors, are important antecedent constructs in the extended technology acceptance model. The analysis also suggests that the user experience type exerts positive moderating effects on two-way communication and personalization to attitude toward behavior and purchase intention. This study thus contributes to the literature on smart service by identifying and studying smart service belief factors. The addition of smart service belief factors as antecedents, as well as user experience type as a moderator, are crucial to expand the generalizability of TAM to the smart media service context. From a customer experience management perspective, this study shows how to convert ad-supported users into new paid subscribers, while keeping existing subscribers by fulfilling their smart service requirements.

Dear readers, Today, the attribute Bsmart^is widely used. Among the examples are smart infrastructures, smart systems, smart cities, smart products or even the smart world (Liu et al. 2019). In a preface to a special issue published in Electronic Markets on smart tourism, the guest editors mentioned that BBSmart^has become a new buzzword to describe technological, economic and social developments fueled by technologies that rely on sensors, big data, open data, new ways of connectivity and exchange of information (e.g., Internet of Things, RFID, and NFC) as well as abilities to infer and reason.^(Gretzel et al. 2015, p. 179). Since then the Bbuzz^has spread further and as with many buzzwords, their understanding is heterogeneous and differs depending on the background of the authors. For example, many researchers in the domain of smart cities adopt a technological perspective and analyze sensors, interfaces or platform architectures that enable use cases in an urban environment (e.g. Puiu et al. 2016). A view on smart products and the associated topics of cyber-physical systems reveals a more or less similar picture. On the other side, researchers from the information systems discipline bring attention to the increasing capabilities of computers, and how they are increasingly doing things that humans could once do exclusively. In their definition, smart machines are becoming like humans by recognizing voices, processing natural language, learning, and interacting with the physical world through their vision, smell, touch, and other senses, mobility and motor control with advanced artificial intelligence, intelligence augmentation and data (Demirkan et al. 2016; Matzner et al. 2018). They profoundly impat the current organization of business processes as illustrated in muliple examples by Porter and Heppelmann (2015). The present special issue on smart services follows this direction and that of the earlier on smart tourism by considering the interplay of technological, economic and social dimensions.
