“…These results show that water transfer through the membrane has the same behavior as the acid transfer that causes an increase of the difference in ionic strength between the two aqueous phases. At higher surfactant concentrations, the emulsion becomes more stable, but an increase in the mass transfer resistance occurs in the membrane phase (Gu et al 1992), which produces a decrease in extraction efficiency. The concentration factor ranges from 1.3 to 1.6 when the concentration of surfactant decreases from 5% to 2%, respectively.…”
