Design Calculation Technique for Thick-Walled Composite Constructions Operating Under High-Speed Loading

Abstract: The scientific paper presents a technique for calculating a thick-walled axially symmetrical construction consisting of a steel rod (reinforcing component) and an external thick-walled shell made of carbon fiber. The construction is loaded with linear load distributed along its length, associated with the operating external pressure, and inertial forces. The technique is based on a one-dimensional model of a composite rod of variable cross-section, roughly taking into account transverse deformations, which is … Show more

“…Since for approximation of VAT parameters in initial and deformed states the same type finite-difference approximations ( 14)-( 19) are used, then at (q 1 ) i = (q 2 ) i = 0 the nondeformed state given by relations ( 14), ( 15) is the exact solution of grid equations (20), that confirms the correctness of developed difference approximations ( 14)-( 21). To construct a computational algorithm for solving the system of nonlinear grid equations (20), a quasi-dynamic form of the establishment method is used [3][4][5]9]. To construct the evolutionary problem, the grid analogs of equilibrium equations (20) are replaced by nonstationary equations that have the same form as the shell's equations of motion in a viscous medium [1][2][3]5].…”

“…The meaning of this technical solution is based on the fact that it is possible to impose geometric and dimensional constraints on the body, leading to a transformation of the shape itself. This feature will not require changes to operations previously worked out in the construction tree [7].…”
