Design and wideband spurious performance prediction for a mixed-resonator combline/TE01-mode DR filter using FDTD

Abstract: A four‐pole mixed‐resonator filter comprised of combline resonators and TE01‐mode dielectric resonators (DRs) has been designed using the FDTD method so that only minimal tuning of the prototype is required. Resonant frequencies, interresonator coupling through rectangular slots, and unloaded Q‐values are calculated for the DR and the combline resonator, and they compare extremely well with results available in the literature.
