Design and Synthesis of Novel Hydrazides, Thiosemicarbazides, Oxadiazoles, and Triazoles of N,N‘-Bis(1-carboxy-15-hydroxy-n- pentadec-8-yl)alkyl or -aryl Diamides: An Approach for Their Biological Evaluation and Possible Industrial Utilization

Abstract: Among the extensive applications of oleochemicals as industrial products, nitrogen derivatives of fatty acids such as amides have been extensively used as antislip and antiblock additives for polythene films in which they are incorporated. They are also used as wall repellents for textiles and as mold release agents, and they are employed in rubber goods and printing inks. Because of this interest in the biological and industrial potential of oleochemicals, a series of novel N,N‘-bis(1-carboxy-15-hydroxy-n-pen… Show more

“…7,8 However, so far there is no evidence to indicate that thiole form could exist in room temperature. 9 The chemical shift and intensity integral of NH proton (υ > 13) of 4-amino-2,4-dihydro-3H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thione clarify that the thione form is the unique structure in solution. In order to get information of the exact structure in solid, a single-crystal X-ray diffraction experiment was performed.…”

“…Compounds containing amides frequently show important biological activities [4] and industrial applications [5] and, consequently, their synthesis have been extensively studied over the years [6]. Although the conversion of esters to amides is a useful synthetic operation, usually presents some disadvantages in terms of drastic reaction conditions, long reaction times or strong alkali metal as catalyst, which usually are not compatible with sensitive functionalities.…”
