Abstract:A 2.4GHZ voltage-controlled oscillator based on standard complementary and symmetrical LC circuit topology and micro electromechanical system (MEMS)-based variable capacitors for frequency tuning is demonstrated in this paper. This VCO operates at 2.4 GHz, achieves a phase noise of 109.8dBc/Hz, -129.5dBc/Hz, -144.0dBc/Hz of 100KHz, IMHz, 4MHz offset from the carrier respectively, exhibits a tuning range of 4.58%, and changes equably from 2.320 to 2.430GHz when tuning voltage is changed from 0 to 5V, which over… Show more
