Design and mathematical modeling of a pyrotechnically actuated water inlet device

Abstract: Pyrotechnically actuated devices(PADs) rely on combustion of energetic materials to achieve various functions and are widely used in aerospace fields. In this paper, based on the basic principle of the PADs, a piston-type water inlet device is designed, which can make underwater weapon sink into the seabed to self-destruct when there is an abnormality, and prevent the weapon from accidentally acting or being captured.
