Design and implementation of micro mobile MPLS for NS-2

Abstract: In this paper, we extend NS-2 to simulate Micro-Mobile MPLS frameworks. The extension supports most of the important mechanisms used in the literature. The simulator is based on IEEE 802.11. The important mechanisms for IEEE 802.11 in our module are multi-channel, directional antennas, multiple interfaces, L2-handoff, L2-trigger, bicasting, pre-established LSP, and buffering mechanism. MPLS modules used in this simulator is based on MPLS module (MNS) [8]-[10]. This simulator could be configured to assess perfo… Show more

“…CN may be located in any outside network directly connected to the MobileMPLS RO network, or it can be located in other distant networks connected to the core network. [11], except the addition of LCA at each edge router to work on behalf of the CN in caching mobility binding information of the MN and forwarding packets from the CN directly to the MN without the need to pass through the LHA as usual.…”
