Design and Implementation of Doherty Power Amplifier of Global System Mobile (GSM) of Base station

Abstract: Power amplifier is the main component of wireless communication system. This paper presents the efficiency improvement of linear Power amplifier for GSM base station using Doherty Power Amplifier (DPA). A DPA operating at 900 MHz and a supply voltage of (2.5-3)V. The DPA is a combination of a carrier amplifier biased to class AB mode and a peaking amplifier biased to class C mode.
