Design and development of naringin‐loaded proposomal gel for wound healing

Abstract: Background:The injuries or wounds caused by various means will impact human lives severely. An increase in the demand for wounds or burns was observed. For better wound healing and to combat the free radical effect on the healing process, wounds must be treated with multifunctional or multipurpose dressing or gel or any other type of biomaterial. Objectives:The study aimed to develop, optimize, and evaluate the naringin-loaded proposomal gel (PPG) for quick wound healing. Methods:The central composite design w… Show more

“…This activity, in turn, reduces the presence of Naringin in the test solution. The results obtained were consistent with the findings of prior studies . The results obtained in this study provide confirmation that the developed methodology may be effectively employed for the estimation of the antioxidant activity of naringin.…”

“…The metal-organic framework (MOF) has been shown to encapsulate naringin as a nontoxic loading carrier that can improve and modulate immune system function using the synergy between naringin and MOF [ 24 ]. In addition, the naringin-loaded proposomal gel (PPG) improved the permeability of naringin and showed better wound closure [ 35 ]. Although naringin has low solubility in lipophilic systems, esterification can overcome it.…”

“…Other authors designed NRG-loaded proposomes (propylene glycol (PG)-based liposomes) to improve wound healing and combat the effect of free radicals on the tissue healing process [ 54 ]. Free radicals (ROS) are critical factors that have a deep influence on the healing process, and NRG has shown properties able to inhibit the cell damage these induce.…”
