Design and Control of Monolithic Compliant Gripper Using Shape Memory Alloy Wires

Abstract: This paper presents the design, fabrication and testing of a shape memory alloy (SMA)-actuated monolithic compliant gripping mechanism that enables translational motion of the gripper tips for grasping operation suitable for micromanipulation and microassembly.
