Design and Analysis of Microstrip Patch Antennas Using Artificial Neural Network

Abstract: The microstrip patch antenna can also be designed using an artificial neural network (ANN) modeling technique where size of the antenna is major limitation especially in mobile and wireless applications. In this chapter, analysis and synthesis problems for designing of microstrip patch antennas were discussed using the artificial neural network technique. An analysis problem refers to calculation of resonant frequency of microstrip patch antenna whereas a synthesis problem refers to calculation of dimensions o… Show more

“…Figure 6 represents the design of microstrip high pass filter using Glass epoxy FR4 substrate. The total area of the proposed design of microstrip filter is 620.1 mm 2 which is more compact as compared to existing designs [3] [4][5] [6]. Length of the proposed filter is 52.11 mm and width of the proposed filter is 11.9 mm.…”

“…Many researchers have already published their work on terahertz applications, but they have discovered many design constraints which are to be focused upon. Since the resonant frequency is inversely proportional to the length of patch, i.e., antennas smaller in size operate in higher frequency and vice versa, for the antenna to radiate in THz region, the antenna dimensions are in the nanometer range which requires very precise and complex fabrication process which leads to high cost of the designed antenna [9][10][11].…”
