Design and Analysis of a Three-Dimensional Spindle-Shaped Receiving Coil for a Targeted Therapy Capsule Robot in the Intestine

Abstract: Capsule robots capable of taking wireless power-transfer systems for diagnosis in the intestine enable the ability to avoid invasive detection, which causes damage to tissue. A targeted therapy capsule robot based on a wireless power-transfer system could move actively in the intestine, implementing diseases detection and drug delivery. Compared with traditional telescope, the capsule robot explores without pain to patients. However, the insufficient power supply has become a big issue for a targeted therapy c… Show more

“…Due to the unpredictable motion of the CR within the gastrointestinal tract, a WPT system must enable multi‐dimensional power transmission to ensure adequate power supply in any position and attitude. The current WPT system for the CR typically consists of a one‐dimensional T x coil (1DTC) and a three‐dimensional R x coil (3DRC) 12–16 . Recent research has primarily focused on 1DTC, which can generate a uniform magnetic field to continuously supply hundreds of milliwatts of power to the CR.…”

“…The current WPT system for the CR typically consists of a one-dimensional T x coil (1DTC) and a three-dimensional R x coil (3DRC). [12][13][14][15][16] Recent research has primarily focused on 1DTC, which can generate a uniform magnetic field to continuously supply hundreds of milliwatts of power to the CR. For instance, Basar et al [17][18][19] proposed 3-Helmholtz coil and 4-Helmholtz coil structures with optimised settings for conventional Helmholtz coils, effectively improving the magnetic field uniformity.…”
