Design, analysis and optimal sizing of standalone PV/diesel/battery hybrid energy system using HOMER

Abstract: Now that the world’s most important problems are the lack of fossil fuel reserves, we need to find a solution to preserve non-renewable resources and replace them with other renewable resources such as solar power. The next focus is on the rising level of undesired gases, such as carbon dioxide, etc. There is a need to regulate the impact of such greenhouse gases. This paper mainly intentional to situate optimal scheduling and to meet the power demand profile by the utilization of available solar energy resour… Show more

“…Various issues in integrating renewable energy systems with smart grids and control strategies have been discussed (Thirunavukkarasu and Sawle, 2021b). To reduce the reliance on fossil fuels, the authors designed a hybrid renewable-based energy system to satisfy the energy requirements of remote area households (Thirunavukkarasu and Sawle, 2020).…”

“…As described by HOMER Pro, the levelized COE is the estimated total cost per kWh of useable electricity produced by the hybrid power system. HOMER Pro divides the annual cost of generating energy by the entire useable electricity generation to get at the COE, which is determined as follows (Homer Pro Home Page, 2022d), (Thirunavukkarasu and Sawle, 2020).…”

“…Compared to other Indonesian islands, Java Island has the most human activity [1]. Because of the increased activity, the average power usage is 11.26 kWh/day, with a maximum electrical load of 2.09 kW [2,3]. As a result, Indonesia focuses on improving accessibility, particularly to electrical energy sources.…”
