Abstract: A região do Alto Camaquã, localizada próxima a Serra do Sudeste do Rio Grande do Sul, é uma região onde predominam pequenos e médios produtores rurais, que preservam cerca de 70% de cobertura de vegetação natural, trabalhando com atividades de pecuária em campo nativo realizada em pequenas e médias unidades produtivas.
