Show more

“…This insecticide did not affect P. elaeisis parental longevity, possibly due to its repellency 39 , which avoided the female coming into contact with its host contaminated by chemical residues. Parasitoids with a longer adult period present better possibilities to find and parasitize suitable hosts 40,41 and may be more efficient in the field.…”

“…Egg parasitoids of the genus Trichogramma are effective agents to control lepidopteran pests in several crops (Liu &Zhang, 2012; Pirovani et al, 2017; Cherif et al, 2019; Basso et al, 2020; Ruhela & Kumar, 2020; Jin et al, 2021). In sugarcane fields, the use of egg parasitoids has increased in control programs for Diatraea saccharalis (Fabricius) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae), one of the main and most harmful pests of the crop (Valente et al, 2016; Parra & Coelho Jr., 2019). Trichogramma galloi Zucchi (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) is constantly recommended for the management of D. saccharalis , as it has high egg parasitism rates, high emergence rates, and a functional mass‐rearing method for laboratories (Camarozano et al, 2022).…”

“…Among the possible biological control agents that could be used in ABC, egg parasitoids are the most important for stink bug management (Laumann et al 2010). These biological control agents attack pest eggs, preventing them from developing and causing injury to the plants (Querino et al 2016;Valente et al 2016).…”
