Abstract: Myxobolus Bütschli, 1882 (Myxozoa, Myxosporea, Bivalvulida, Myxobolidae) is an important parasitic protozoan of freshwater fishes reported from almost all over the world. The severity of infection may lead to mortality of the host fish.
