Graduating through a research work requires competencies in the student. For this reason, it is essential to study a research tutoring methodology from the tutor's training, resources and strategies that generate a positive, formative, and preventive work environment. The objective of this work focuses on the methodology that a research professor of high scientific productivity with Salesian style generates in the process of university tutoring in research, with visible results in the short term. The results show a total of 84 works completed between 2021 and 2023, an average of 28 works per year, as well as a participation of 29 female students and 59 male students. It is concluded that a research methodology accompanied by professors trained in a friendly spirit, proactive action, and immediate positive results, generates a positive environment where formative and preventive experiences permeate the conscience, the professional profile, and the life plan of the students.

Introducción: Las competencias investigativas docentes son esenciales para la producción científica en ingeniería, mejorando la metodología, divulgación y estrategias didácticas centradas en la investigación. Metodología: Este estudio examina la relación entre las competencias investigativas de los docentes y la capacidad de los estudiantes para la producción científica en una universidad peruana, utilizando un diseño mixto concurrente con análisis de contenido y un enfoque descriptivo correlacional. Se recopilaron datos cuantitativos de 215 estudiantes y 25 docentes mediante cuestionarios y datos cualitativos de 8 docentes y 16 estudiantes a través de entrevistas. Resultados: La alta correlación positiva (0,815) entre las competencias docentes y la producción científica estudiantil subraya la relevancia de fortalecer la enseñanza de métodos de investigación, así como la mentoría y la gestión de proyectos. Discusión: Se identificaron cuatro pilares clave: Investigación Académica, Innovación Tecnológica, Formación, e Impacto Social y Ambiental, reflejando cómo los estudiantes aplican su conocimiento en la creación de prototipos y la transferencia tecnológica. Conclusiones: Las competencias investigativas docentes son clave para la producción científica estudiantil en ingeniería, subrayando la importancia de mejorar la enseñanza, mentoría, gestión de proyectos, e integrar investigación, innovación tecnológica e impacto social.
